Richard Yue

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Richard Yue co-founded ARCH Capital in 2006 and has over 25 years of experience in the Asian real estate industry. Richard’s experience includes investing over US$5.0 billion of equity around Asia across core, core-plus, value-add, and opportunistic strategies. Experience spans real estate investment, property development, project management, banking and capital markets, corporate finance/M&A, and regional REIT structuring and securitizations.

Richard was a former Director of Investments at AIG Global Real Estate and prior to that Director at Citigroup Real Estate and Capital Markets.

Richard received his MBA and Bachelor’s Degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada. Richard is a member of the Investment Committee, ARCH Capital and the General Partner Board of Directors and the Audit and Compliance Committee.

Charles Cosgrove

President

With over 30 years in global real estate investing, Charles Cosgrove conceived the original plan for ARCH Capital in 2005 while also heading Ayala's offshore investment business.

Charles began his career as a real estate attorney at Shearman & Sterling in New York followed by a period as a general partner in real estate development in Northern California. A Singapore resident of over 25 years, Charles worked initially as a senior transaction executive at Singapore Telecom, followed by his role as Chief Executive of Ayala's offshore investment business.

Charles graduated from Stanford University and Georgetown Law School, and is a retired member of the New York State Bar.

Jonathan E. Umali

Chief Investment Officer

Jonathan Umali joined ARCH Capital in 2006 and has over 23 years of experience in real estate development and asset management across Asia. He leads investment and asset management activities in the regional markets and serves on the Board of ARCH Capital and the Investment Committee.

Jonathan was a former Senior Executive at Ayala Land responsible for the middle-income residential and mixed-use business in the Philippines. Jonathan also spent 3 years with Equitable-PCI Bank and Chemoil Group in Singapore and California, USA.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering with Chemical Engineering minor from De La Salle University and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management.

James Chou

Senior Managing Director

With over 20 years of experience in real estate investment and asset management, James Chou joined ARCH Capital in 2010 and established the Shanghai office. Current responsibilities are principally focused on transaction origination and partner relationship management. James is a member of the Investment Committee, ARCH Capital and the General Partner Board of Directors and the Audit and Compliance Committee.

Prior to joining the firm, he was Managing Director of AIG Real Estate Asia and Head of Real Estate for Taiwan Nan Shan Insurance Company (an AIG affiliate) managing a US$1.3 billion real estate portfolio. He also spent 10 years at Koo’s Group Real Estate responsible for investments. James started his career with Citibank in Taiwan.

James undertook undergraduate studies in Physics and Applied Sciences at Soochow University, Taiwan and graduate MBA studies at Fordham University, New York.

Leonard Wei

Chief Operating Officer

With over 20 years of experience in real estate and debt finance, Leonard Wei joined ARCH Capital in 2008 as Chief Operating Officer with overall responsibilities for operations, finance, compliance, and risk management.

Prior to joining the firm, Leonard spent 23 years in banking with international institutions including JPMorgan, Citicorp, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Standard Chartered bank providing debt financing solutions to clients across a broad spectrum of industries.

Leonard received a BA degree from Middlebury College.

Ignatius Wong

Chief Financial Officer

With over 10 years of experience in private equity funds overseeing financial management and investment evaluations, Ignatius Wong joined ARCH Capital in 2015 as the Chief Financial Officer for the China Portfolio.

Ignatius commenced his career at Deloitte, spending over 6 years in assurance and advisory activities with clients in real estate development and construction in both China and Hong Kong. After Deloitte, Ignatius worked in a private equity fund specializing in property acquisition and development as its financial controller before joining ARCH Capital.

Ignatius received a Master’s Degree in Economics and Accounting from The University of Edinburgh. He is also a member of HKICPA and a Certified Financial Risk Manager.

Winson Chow

Head of Australia

With over 20 years’ experience in property investment, development and asset management spanning commercial, hospitality, residential and retirement living properties, Winson Chow joined ARCH Capital in 2019 and established the Australia office.

Prior to joining the firm, he was former COO of Mulpha Group (Australia) with responsibilities for portfolios in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and China, and former Managing Director of China Resources Property with overall responsibilities for Southeast Asia and Mainland China investments.

Winson holds a Master Degree in Environmental Planning from the University of Melbourne, Australia and Bachelor Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Newcastle, U.K., and is a holder of the Certified Engineer (Hong Kong) and Chartered Engineer (Australia) certifications.

Karen Kwok

Managing Director

With over 20 years of experience in real estate investment, asset and portfolio management, Karen Kwok joined ARCH Capital in 2006 and leads portfolio management activities covering investment transaction review, performance monitoring, and portfolio analysis and reporting.

Prior to joining the firm, she spent 7 years at AIG Global Real Estate responsible for fund and proprietary acquisition and divestment activities as well as corporate debt investments across the Asia Pacific region.

She received a Bachelor’s Degree (First Honors) in Real Estate and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Finance from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (MHKIS).

Terence Lo

Managing Director

Terence Lo joined ARCH Capital in 2008 and covers investment and asset management across multiple asset classes and strategies throughout Asia. His experience spans real estate deal origination, investment structuring, property development and management, portfolio management, valuations, and banking. Terence is a member of the Investment Committee.

Prior to joining ARCH, he was in the banking sector with the Royal Bank of Canada. Terence holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Finance) from the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business and is a CFA Charterholder.

Setthaphol Boottho

Director

Setthaphol Boottho joined ARCH in 2008. He leads investment and asset management activities in Thailand. He has over 20 years of experience in real estate development, project and asset management from his involvement in a number of leading luxury resorts, residential, office, and retail projects.

Setthaphol began his career in 1994 with Engineering and Construction PCL, followed by 7 years with ConocoPhillips (Thailand) where he handled design, construction, and market development. Prior to joining ARCH, he was VP Project Development for one of the leading developers in Thailand, and VP of Business Development and Project Development with a major hotel developer. Setthaphol holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master of Real Estate Business degree from Thammasat University.

Loretta Li

Director

With over 14 years of experience in investor reporting, fund accounting and administration, Loretta joined ARCH Capital in 2007 with responsibilities for investor reporting, fund accounting and fund performance monitoring.

Her career started with Hysan Development, a Hong Kong listed property investment and development company, with over 6 years’ experience in Accounting and Treasury.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Analysis from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree (First Class Honors) in Business Administration in Accountancy from the City University of Hong Kong. She is a member of HKICPA and ACCA.

Eric Manuel

Director

With over 15 years of experience in real estate advisory, development, investment, and asset management, spanning both commercial and residential sectors, Eric Manuel joined ARCH Capital in 2018. He leads investment and asset management activities in the Philippines.

Previously, Eric was Vice President and Head of Real Estate for Primeiro Partners, an investment bank providing strategic and capital advisory services to several real estate developers and financial institutions.

He was also Vice President for Daiichi Properties, an award-winning developer in the Philippines.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Binghamton University and a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics.

David Lin

Director

David brings over 20 years of experience in real estate investment, asset management, and development to the table. He joined ARCH Capital in 2019 and has since successfully expanded the Taiwan team and portfolio.

His diverse project experience encompasses residential, retail, and logistics sectors, where he oversees investment and asset management activities.

Before joining ARCH Capital, David spent five years working in real estate development at a publicly listed company in Taiwan. His real estate career began at Nan Shan Insurance (an AIG affiliate), where he spent a decade focusing on real estate investment and asset management in their real estate department.

David holds a Bachelor's degree in Land Economics and Administration from National Taipei University and a Master's degree in Finance from Baruch College (CUNY).
